We welcome the following teams to the 2018 Arby's Classic:
Bearden High School (Knoxville, TN)

The Bulldogs are coming off of an outstanding 2017-18 season as they were 38-2. Their only losses were to Columbus, MS and
Memphis East with both winning state championships. Ques Glover, sr, 6-0, 19ppg, 3.1apg, Trent Stephney, sr, 6-2, 18.1ppg, 5rpg and Tennessee commit Drew Pember, sr, 6-10, 10ppg, 8rpg return to lead the Bulldogs. Glover has offers from over 20 D-1 schools includinG UAB, Yale, & NM State. Shamarcus Brown, sr, 6-5, 10ppg, 8.2rpg and Kordell Kah, sr, 6-6 also return. Coach Parrott has an overall record of 274-240. The Bulldogs have exceptional talent and will be a favorite to win the title.
Buford High School (Buford, GA)
Coach: Eddie Martin • Nickname: Wolves • Enrollment: 1500
The Wolves were 24-5 and a state quarterfinalist in 2017-18. Marcus Watson, sr, 6-6, 22.4ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.7apg returns to lead the Wolves. Watson has signed with Oklahoma State. He was on the 2016 Arby’s Classic All-Tournament Team. Donell Nixon, sr, 5-9, 14.3ppg, 3.1apg and Eric Coleman, sr, 6-6, 20ppg, 8.3rpg also return. Nixon has signed with Wingate and Coleman has signed with High Point. Coach Martin has an overall record of 782-246. Coach Martin won the Arby’s Classic in 2013 with Greater Atlanta Christian. The Wolves will be one of the favorites to win the title.
Cardinal Newman School (Columbia, SC)
Coach: Philip Deter • Nickname: Cardinals • Enrollment: 570
The Cardinals were 22-6 and a state quarterfinalist in 2017-18. Chico Carter, sr, 6-4, 21.8ppg, 5.2rpg, 4.7apg returns to lead the Cardinals. Carter has committed to Murray State. Josh Beadle, soph, 6-4, 9.6ppg, 2.3apg and Bryce Earle, sr, 6-1, 4.4ppg also return. Silas Christie, soph, 6-4 will also be counted on to help the Cardinals. Several starters have already committed to D1 schools. No South Carolina team has ever won the Arby’s Classic. Could Coach Deter’s Cardinal’s be the first?
Carmel Christian School (Matthews, NC)
Coach: Joe Badgett • Nickname: Cougars • Enrollment: 359
The Cougars were 24-4 and NCISAA 2A State Champions in 2017-18. Donovan Gregory, sr, 6-4, 20ppg and an Appalachian State
commit returns to lead the Cougars. DeAngelo Epps, sr, 6-5, Jake Boggs, sr, 6-8 and Marten Maide sr, 6-5, 12ppg also return. Epps has committed to College of Charleston, Boggs to UNC Wilmington and Maide to Liberty. Coach Badgett has an overall record of 108-17. The Cougars have the talent to make it a repeat for the state of North Carolina.
Dobyns-Bennett High School (Kingsport, TN)
Coach: Chris Poore • Nickname: Indians • Enrollment: 2208
The Indians were 28-6 and a Sweet Sixteen team in 2017-18. Riamello Wadsworth, sr, 6-1, 11.6ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.7apg returns to lead the Indians. Wadsworth was the Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Marae Foreman, sr, 5-6, 10.6ppg, 3.1apg and Charlie Browder, jr, 6-7, 8.7ppg, 6.5rpg also return for the Indians. Coach Poore’s Indians placed 5th in last year’s Arby’s Classic and have the talent to make a run for the championship.
Gate City High School (Gate City, VA)
Coach: Scott Vermillion • Nickname: Blue Devils • Enrollment: 650
The Blue Devils are coming off of an outstanding season in 2017-18. They were 28-2 and VHSL Class 2A State Champions. Zack
Ervin, sr, 6-5, 24ppg, 7rpg, 3apg returns to lead the Blue Devils. Ervin was 1st team All-State and has committed to Wofford. Bradley Dean, jr, 6-2, 14ppg, 5rpg, Jon Compton, jr, 5-9, 3ppg, Drew Vermillion, sr, 6-1, 3ppg also return. Coach Vermillion has an overall record of 400-125. The Blue Devils will be a tough draw for any team.
Greeneville High School (Greeneville, TN)
Coach: Brad Woolsey • Nickname: Greene Devils • Enrollment: 913
The Greene Devils were 16-15 and a regional qualifier in 2017-18. Dorien Goddard, sr, 6-4, 12.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.8apg and Jaevon
Gillespie, sr, 5-10, 13.8ppg, 2.4rpg return to lead Greeneville. Goddard is a Virginia football commit. Bryce Buchanan, sr, 5-6, 6.6ppg and Tyler Marsh, sr, 6-3, 4.3ppg, 4.6rpg also return. Reid Satterfield, fr, 6-2 will also be counted on as well. Coach Woolsey has an overall record of 153-98. The Greene Devils will present a challenge for any team.
Morristown East High School (Morristown, TN)

The Hurricanes were 22-10 and lost in the Region in 2017-18. Connor Jordan, sr, 5-10, 20.3ppg, 5.4rpg, 4.8apg and Cameron Rymer, Sr, 5-10, 11.3ppg, 2.5apg return to lead the Hurricanes. Braden Ilic, fr, 6-7 will add depth. Coach Collins has an overall record of 82-50. The Hurricanes could be the surprise team with their backcourt strength.
Mount Bethel Christian Academy (Marietta, GA)
Coach: Cal Boyd • Nickname: Eagles • Enrollment: 180
The Eagles were 28-7 and GICAA D-1AA State Champions in 2017-18. Coleman Boyd, sr, 6-1, 11.3ppg, 3.2rpg, 7.1apg returns to lead the Eagles. Boyd is being recruited by Georgia Tech and Santa Clara. Stanley Eze, sr, 6-5, 14.5ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.2apg, Jordan Meka, jr, 6-8, 15ppg, 9rpg and Jayce Harrison, soph, 5-9, 15.1ppg, 4.3apg also return for the Eagles. Meka is being recruited by Georgia, Miss State, Alabama, and UCLA. Coach Boyd has an overall record of 471-168. The Eagles have the talent to win it all.
Orem High School (Orem, UT)
Coach: Perry Wildeboer and Golden Holt • Nickname: Golden Tigers • Enrollment: 1037
The Tigers were 19-5 and lost in the semi-finals of the Utah state tournament. Puka Nakua, sr, 6-2, 14ppg, 6apg returns to lead
the Golden Tigers. Nakua is a USC football commit. Ike Richards, 6-4, 13ppg, 7rpg, Shem Johnson, sr, 6-8, Taft Mitchell, sr, 6-0, and Carter Nehman, sr, also return. Coach Wildeboer has an overall record of 245-79 and Coach Holt’s record is 144-81. Coach Wildboer’s Tempview, UT team finished 2nd in the 2004 Arby’s Classic. Orem could be the first Utah team to win the title.

The Hilltoppers were 25-9 and a Sweet Sixteen team in 2017-18. Drew Morrison, sr, 6-0, 7ppg, 5rpg and Kendle Cutlip, 6-3, 6ppg
return to lead the Hilltoppers. Jake Matherne, jr, 6-5, 5ppg and Will Stevens, sr, 5-10, 3ppg also return. Coach Cutlip has an overall record of 451-161. The Hilltoppers always play with a lot of energy.
Sullivan East High School (Bluff City, TN)
Coach: John Dyer • Nickname: Patriots • Enrollment: 850
The Patriots were 17-13 in 2017-18. The Patriots return two of the top players in the area, Dustin Bartley, sr, 6-2, 15ppg, 6rpg and Adam Davison, sr, 6-1, 15ppg, 4apg. Coach Dyer has an overall record of 536-486.
Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy (Freeport, Grand Bahamas)
Coach: Kevin Clarke • Nickname: Falcons • Enrollment: 570
The Falcons will be making their 20th straight Arby’s Classic appearance. Coach Clarke’s Falcons were 30-4 and Bahamas National High School Champions in 2017-18. Joshua Dames, 6-2, 21.7ppg, 6.4rpg, Romad Dean, 6-6, 15.6ppg, 12.9rpg return to lead the Falcons. Ethan Munroe, 5-7, 6.9ppg, 5.4apg and Travjuan Alleyne, 6-4, 10.2ppg, 9.3rpg also return. The Falcons could be a contender this year.
Tennessee High School (Bristol, TN)
Coach: Roby Witcher • Nickname: Vikings • Enrollment: 1130
The Vikings were 14-15 in 2017-18. Christian Webb, sr, 6-5, 16.4ppg, 7.1rpg and Cade Mitchell, 5-7, 7.3ppg, 4apg return to lead the Vikings. Nolan Wishon, jr, 6-7, 11.5ppg, 9.8rpg, Cole McBrayer, jr, 5-10 7ppg and Brandon Brown, soph, 6-1, 4ppg, 2apg also return. Transfers Preston Quillin, sr, 6-4, 12.2ppg and McHale Bright, jr, 6-4, 13.6ppg will be counted on by Coach Witcher’s Vikings. Coach Witcher has an overall record of 254-162. The Vikings have the experience and depth to make a run for the Arby’s Classic title.
Trinity High School (Louisville, KY)
Coach: Mike Szabo • Nickname: Shamrocks • Enrollment: 1210
The Shamrocks were 30-4 and a Sweet Sixteen team in 2017-18. David Johnson, sr, 6-5, 14ppg, 6rpg returns to lead Trinity. Johnson is a Louisville commit and the 2016 Arby’s Classic MVP. Stan Turnier, sr, 6-4, 8ppg, 4rpg and Jamil Hardaway, sr, 6-5, 6ppg, 5rpg also return. Turnier is a preferred walk on at Georgia. Coach Szabo has an overall record of 526-199 and is considered one of the top coaches in the Southeast. The Shamrocks were the 2016 Arby’s Classic Champions and will be one of the favorites to win it again.
Union High School (Big Stone Gap, VA)
Coach: Zack Moore • Nickname: Bears • Enrollment: 630
The Bears were 17-10 and lost in the region semi-finals in 2017-18. Wes Slagle, sr, 6-5, 20ppg, 8rpg as a sophomore in 2016-17 returns to lead the Bears as he missed last season with a torn ACL. Noah Garrison, sr, 10ppg and Alex Rasnick, soph, 5-8, 10ppg also return. The Bears will be well coached and fun to watch.
Wasilla High School (Wasilla, AK)
Coach: Ryan Engebretsen • Nickname: Warriors • Enrollment: 952
The Warriors were 25-4 and 4A State Champions in 2017-18. Daniels Headdings, sr, 6-3, 10.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.6apg returns to lead the Warriors. Headdings is being recruited by a number of schools including Seton Hall. Luke Devine, jr, 6-4, Kody Campbell, sr, 6-2 and Andrew Devine, soph, 6-5 also return. Coach Engebretsen was Alaska Coach of the Year and has an overall record of 242-74.
Wenonah High School (Birmingham, AL)
Coach: Audwin Howard • Nickname: Dragons • Enrollment: 630
The Dragons were 29-8 and lost in the 5A State Semi-Finals in 2017-18. Cameron Tucker, sr, 6-5, 20ppg, 5rpg, 6apg and Justin Minter, sr, 6-4, 17.8ppg, 7rpg, 7apg return to lead Wenonah. Tucker and Minter were both All-State in 2017-18. JaDerryus Eatmon, sr, 6-9, 10ppg, 11rpg also returns. Coach Howard has an overall record of 75-52. The talented Dragons could be the first Alabama team to win the Arby’s Classic.
